"Nearer, my God, to Thee" is traditionally associated with the RMS Titanic, as passengers reported that the ship's band played the hymn as the Titanic sank. It is usually performed to the 1856 tune "Bethany" by American composer Lowell Mason, which was also used in the 1997 film "Titanic".

  • D: sad

  • @zaxori117 lmfao save that for 12/21/12

  • this wasn't the song they were actually player. The real song is called Songe d'Automne the movie made this song famous. It is very beautiful.

  • Beautiful

  • This song is very truly associated with anyone lost at sea and not just the Titanic, although the Titanic did make it more 'famous'. As a Newfoundlander, I cannot count how many times I have heard this growing up. There is a belief that at the near moment of death you are closer to God and Heaven than ever. They played this at my uncle and cousins 'funeral' after they were lost after a bad storm. Thank you for bringing this to the mainstream. This a beautiful song!!!

  • I keep thinking of Titanic when I hear this music.

  • una gran cancion, para una gran pelicula o para esa persona, que te importa mucho y quieres que se entere que ella o el te importa mucho, saludos

  • But those pictures are nature, anyone can take those kind of pictures, even the person who downloaded the song. On the other hand, those pictures are not being sell it or rented, just exposed. There is no profit on that.
