55°F +17% = 67°F, or
13.9°C +17% = 61.3°F, or
287°K +17% = 144.8°F ????
Columbus should have been able to use the Northwest Passage in any of the three cases, but probably did not have the right equipment to withstand 144°F temperatures.

One summary of non-scientific thoughts on the matter (as already seen by current posts): It gets cooler at night. It gets colder in the winter. OBVIOUSLY climate always changes, therefor ignore all observable changes that completely obliterate natural occurring swings .
Yeah, and if my heart rate averages 70bpm during the day, and 55 at night, then it is OK when it becomes 200bpm at rest and climbs because heart rates are "always changing." Science deniers would say this is OK... right?

We have increased the CO2 in the atmosphere by over 25%. this hasn't happened in over 100 million years.
