  • Lemme tell you, Citi Field is a dead park. When Shea was packed it was the loudest place on Earth. When Citi Field is packed, it is dead silent during key spots. I stood up during a key spot and some guy told me to sit down. I could not believe it! Baseball is not what it used to be. It is now just a business not the sport it was in the olden days.

  • don't knock down shea!

  • As a Mets fan, maybe a terrorist would bomb Citi Field (when empty of course!!) and we could get a real stadium with the insurance money. Now...I'm joking of course!!

  • I was at Shea Stadium on September 6,1986. The New York Mets played the San Diego Padres. Another one of the Mets' wins that led to the World Series shortly thereafter.

  • @jericho360 could not agree more perfect explination

  • AND, BY THE WAY, I'VE BEEN TO THE OLD YANKEE STADIUM, TOO. DESPITE THAT OTHER TEAM'S SUCCESSES THERE, WHEN COMPARED TO SHEA, YANKEE STADIUM WAS A DEATH TRAP

  • @jet4212006 I, TOO WAS AT THE LAST AGME AT SHEA STADIUM. I CRIED FOR HOURS. THEN, I DECIDED TO RISK GOING TO JAIL BY SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF GATE C WHEN IT FINALLY CLOSED LODGING MY ETERNAL PROTEST AGAINST TEARING OUR HOME DOWN. CITI FIELD WILL NEVER, REPEAT, NEVER BE THE SAME TYPE OF HOME THAT THE GREAT SHEA STADIUM WAS, IS , AND ALWAYS WILL BE. LONG LIVE WILLIAM A SHEA STADIUM FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shea Stadium first place I ever saw a MLB game back in 1965. Mets vs Dodgers. Don Drysdale vs Warren Spahn. Drysdale broke up a one to one tie by hitting a home run in the 7th inning. I'll never forget Shea

  • I still haven't been to Shitty Field even though it's been 3 years since my beloved Shea was demolished...I don't like the stadium,I don't like the team,I don't like the owners. The Mets just as well as moved..Ahhh to go back a few years.Just more more night game at Shea...sigh.

  • @fdny442 Yeah, hey, let's all go to a ballgame to sight-see. Let's all go to a ballgame to check out the large team stores and the shake shacks! Hey, every now and then, we might even look down unto the field to see what's happening in the game.

The fewer number of seats certainly does determine the way a place sounds... Citi was constructed with over 12,000 less seats. These seats came out of the upper deck. Field level seats in Citi, though, increased. Real fans are scammed. Noise level down.

  • @jericho360 Shea was the Mets. CitiField is named after a faceless corporation and modeled after an old stadium of another team that is still actively playing on the West Coast. The Wilpons were Dodgers fans as kids and so they knocked down the Mets home in order to erect a monument to another team. When the Dodgers play at Citi Field the Mets should wear their away jerseys. Shea stadium used to rock.. literally rock.. during big plays. I agree with you... Citi field is neutered in comparison.

  • The Beatles actually played there... If anyone knows
