Glossy Teeth (One Shot) Part 2

Demi's POV

Joe and I got off 15 minutes later and he lead the way to a little coffee shop. When we got there he introduced me to a few people.

"Demi, these are my band mates. Greg, John and Jack." I shook all their hands and they smiled.

"Woah..you're really pretty!" Greg said. I giggled.

"Your teeth are so shiny!" John and Jack both started to say. These guys were really funny. Greg, John and Jack said they had to leave to set up and I turned to Joe.

"You never told me you were in a band!" I said.

Joe smirked and said, "You said I didn't know anything about music. You wouldn't have believed me if I told you."

I blushed, "Sorry. It just slipped out."

Joe smiled, "It's fine. Uh..I don't go on for another half hour. Do you want something to drink?" I nodded and Joe and I sat at a table. I ordered a green tea and he ordered a coffee.

"What go you into music?" I asked him.

"My mom. Before she uhh..she passed away, we always used to sing and dance and play instruments. It's when I was happiest. She was my favourite person in the whole word," Joe looked down and i instantly felt bad. I scooted closer to him and put my hand on his cheek.

"I'm sorry I asked Joe, I didn't mean to in-"

"It's fine," Joe grinned, "I like to talk about my mom." I giggled and Joe and I continued to talk about his mom. He told me so many stories I felt like I knew her. Joe seemed like a completely different person. I've known him since the first grade, but I always thought of him as that kid in the corner. Now, he seems like..I don't know..a good person. I looked at his face and took in his features. Chocolate eyes, perfectly sculpted bone structure, just the right amount of scruff..and his lips..I wanted to kiss them right there. But that would be weird considering we kinda just started to get to know each other.

Joe glanced at me and we just stared at each other for a while. He leaned in a bit and I leaned in too. THEN..of course..John came over and interrupted us, "Joe! Time to get on stage!"

Joe leaned back and looked shocked and worried..did he regret almost kissing me? Oh God, he did. "Right..right..I'm coming." Joe quickly got up and left me sitting by myself.

A few minutes later he appeared on stage, looking as handsome as ever. He grabbed his mic..I was so wrong. I knew I was wrong from the beginning. He knew everything about music. He wasn't just a good singer, you could feel his emotion. He looked so comfortable, so confident on stage. I couldn't help but feel like I was falling for him.

After Joe's set he came and sat beside me again. He looked like he was debating something, "Listen Demi.." his voice got quieter, "about the kiss..I didn't..it was..an accident."

I nodded sadly and said, "Yeah..totally. Pshh..like I could ever like you."

He nodded and got up. He motioned his hand for me to follow and we got on the bus back home.

Joe's POV

The next day at school I walked into music class and sat next to Demi. "Demi..I don't think we should be friends. Just do this project and that's it." I had to tell her plain and simple. We couldn't be friends. I wasn't fit to be in her life. And this girl was confusing my feelings!

She looked hurt but quickly hid it with a cold stare, "If that's what you want."

What. Did. I. Just. Do.
