Everybody loves the signature Vangelis sound. Very few have access to a Yamaha CS 80. Hence this tutorial!

UPDATE: Upon further tinkering I found out that you need some more resonance and possibly unison mode for Blade Runner (opening, the Blues is a whole different thing...).

Basically I made a microKORG adaptation of meastempo's Yamaha CS 70M videos. If you haven't seen them yet, do so! They're awesome! http://www.youtube.com/user/meastempo

  • Nice! R those Plug to RCA adapters on the main L/R output ?

  • @paradeal

    :)

No, I used the headphone output. Split the signal to computer and RCA adapter.

  • sounds plastic fantastic micro korg = vst

  • @09fod

    Good call, Sherlock!

    Oh, wait, no.

It's an analog modeling synthesizer, not Steinberg's Virtual Studio Interface.

  • @StrangeQuarkStar HEY im just saying it sounds like a cheep vst and its the worst ever analog modeling synth ive ever used it would be better and cheaper to get say a novation super nova rack or something (sold my micro korg after about 2 weeks of trying to make good sounds )

  • @09fod OK, I don't know what a "cheep" VST sounds like, or any VST for that matter 'cause I don't use my computer for music.

I like the microKORG for its interface (can't beat the arpeggiator buttons), small size and great looks. Also its sounds, yes.

If I want really "good sounds" (not that the KORG sounds bad) I use my Prophet '08.

There is always something better sounding; do you post your derisive comments on every video with synthesizers that sound inferior to you?

  • yo tenia la misma Radio cuando era pequeño, es una National Panasonic, muy buena calidad!

  • @strangequarkstar I can't see which nobs you're turning as your hands get in the way. Can we have the simple instructions posted here please?

  • Vangelis must be proud of you! Congratulations for your work and thanks for posting the video! Hugs from Pelotas-Brazil.

  • !!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! wow!!

  • What's the video effect in the begining?

  • I actually think that VSTs sound better than the microkorg. I own a microkorg and i use it as a midi controller keyboard.

  • @09fod You obviously are just a noob who doesn't know how to program a synth. If you know anything about patching you can make this sound great. The presets suck. This is true. But if you can't make it sound good then you are not using it correctly. Wish I had a camera so I could post some of my patches. also, because I own a microkorg, should I go on shitty casio keyboard videos and tell them that their keyboard sucks because it isn't the synth I own or like. haha

  • @StrangeQuarkStar i am sorry i don't want to get in to an argument everyone has there personal opinion...
