Here's the story of our driving adventures in Jamaica. The road conditions slowly deteriorated as we made our way across the rugged and isolated mountains of Cockpit Country.

  • We called it a highway because the map we purchased showed that it was a two-lane highway over the mountains. Yes, we thought it would be a shortcut. What a surprise! We didn't see any people, but we saw miles of beautiful wilderness, tropical trees, and a lonely dirt track. We were hoping and praying that we didn't meet another car. Not sure how we would have passed them on the narrow paths!

  • I saw the video you might not believe it buy Where i Live the mountain roads are somewhat similar. I live in Puerto Rico. almost the same as Jamaica

  • @florescaramelo Would love to visit Puerto Rico someday, but would not want to drive on the mountain roads again. Once was enough! We enjoyed the friendly people and the gorgeous scenery and would like to return to Jamaica with our children. Maybe we will see Puerto Rico, too!

  • i love the vid ! jamaica is beautiful !! do you go often ?

  • @sheekz100 We loved visiting Jamaica! We have only been there once, but would thoroughly enjoy going back again sometime. Yes, it is beautiful!

  • I'm sure you guys will never forget that experience, beats lounging on the beach drinking margaritas. The name is 'Tourist' for a reason.

  • why do these people keeping calling the dirt track highway. did someone tell them that they're highways. This a mountain road where noone lives. Did you see anyone up in there?

  • One day I'm going to Jamaica for a vacation. I'm from Sri Lanka, and it looks exactly like it.

  • yes i definitely know what it is about mountain driving especially when the road becomes big enough for one car. but thats nice. Jamaica is very beautiful. Puerto Rico and jamaica look identical by some standards.

  • Wonderful

  • Lol! We do not call those highway here in Jamaica!! Those are dirt tracks!! You final got to a highway in the latter portion of the video. Apparently you were taking a "shortcut" to your destination - you guys are good though:-)
