@zadoks Yea i would go for a figh flow cat rather than catless. catless smog is not worth the benifit.
-
@Porschemovies catless causes boost spikes and backfire. oh yea maybe 5 more hp, pointless
-
Have you ever tried Cherry Bombs or BORLA Exhaust ?
-
Go cat less. Get the down pipes and ypipe. I know cobb has a new ypipe.
My 03 Evo 8 dynoed 235whp bone stock
with a piggy back and cat delete and a cat back exhaust 292 whp custom tuned. With a full 3 in turbo back exhaust cams and custom tune I was at 328whp.
catless is the way to go for big power.

I would have expected more of a better exhaust note too. But as long as you still got performance out of it it was a good investment.

I was not unhappy with the power. I dynoed it standard the day before and it was 410whp/406 tq standard, so it was a significant improvement. Should be around 540 at the crank. Was a bit unhappy with the sound of the Mine's exhaust though, felt it was to quiet

I think the owner was being modest instead of unhappy. I believe what you are talking about when you say "over 500hp" may be a little fib by Nissan (they say 480) because many say it's well over 500hp. And that 500hp is not rated at the wheels. 460 & 456 at the wheels in the video above seems to be a significant improvement. Then again alot of different dynos have had a hard time measuring the GTR, so....
-
460,456, not to bad, I think the owner wasn't to happy. Because some GTRs hp is over 500hp

Sounds INSANE.
That's just unburned fuel from letting off the throttle pedal at high rpm and high load. Normal behavior.

Cobb's GTR is 502 at the wheels. damn hand built engines. haha
