I take my hair at the nape like a ponytail, twist it up, then hook my finger into the tail where it meets the crown of my head and twist it again and under the other twist, then shimmy a large comb into it. Haven't had a problem with it coming down like other twists do to my hair. (Though you do need length enough to hook your finger....)
