Why did the Japanese kamikaze bomb the American ships? In part, they were told that if captured they'd suffer horrific punishment and starvation; and the fact that Japanese Americans were in internment camps confirmed this to them. By becoming the bad guys who torture, you convince a thousands more Islamic kids its a good idea to blow themselves away, rather than risk their country become a land of rape, debauchery and death.

I think this is part of the main reason these assholes feel justified for war. Everyone wants to be part of that greatest generation... everyone wants to be the next war president or famous war general... they want the fame and glory and get us into wars and all unnecessarily.
