Daryl Hall revisits his 1980, Robert Fripp-produced solo debut, Sacred Songs, for a rare performance of "Babs and Babs," with Guster's Ryan Miller, Luke Reynolds and Brian Rosenworcel, for the first new Live from Daryl's House web show of the year. The 38th and newest installment of the Webby award-winning Internet series, which recently made its broadcast debut with a 2 hour New Years Eve Special on WGN America to impressive ratings, will debut at www.lfdh.com on Jan. 15.

  • The organic evolution of LFDH is a lot of fun, always.

  • @brynolf11 - Autotune is a great tool. Perhaps the engineer who did post production might chime in. When pitch correction is applied with a longer correction time, it's almost transparent, but after using it for years on my own voice and other artists', there are subtle quirks that I hear here. There are other performances on LFDH where it more apparent. Using it live on stage, it has a tendency over time to train a vocalist to avoid bending into notes as to not trigger tracking errors.

  • @junkbuddhist I have some experience, yes. And I hear more than a couple of off key notes in this song. Where exactly do you mean the Antares curse shines through?

  • @brynolf11 As an audio engineer in Nashville, I hear pitch correction. Have you had any experience with Antares pitch correction systems or similar? There is a distinct sound, however subtle that it brings to vocals. I'm not talking about the "T-Pain" sound, which is the extreme "full on" setting that most of us associate with the word "autotune." Perhaps the engineers of LADH can chime in.

  • @junkbuddhist Autotune? Are you drunk?

  • I love LADH, but I want to break in and nick their autotune boxes. Daryl, you have one of the greatest voices in pop history - you don't need autotune..

  • Everyone did such a great job on this song! Wonderful!

  • love this song.. addicted to it!! :)

I've laughed in my sleep before and it woke me up.. maybe you could make that into a song lyric :)

  • Always terrific. If I was singing in my sleep I sure as sunshine after rain hope I'd be woken up for some cuddle action. Ah the rich fantasy life!

  • Infectious joy; delicious harmonies right smack in the middle of the song. I am loving these videos.

  • Oh! I was all set for The Contours! Well, that dates me. Excellent song, and nicely done!

  • After a beautiful performance, deserved a lot of applause, pity there is no audience to thank you instantly making such wonders.

Hall, continue with this work, which is fabulous and please invite the Brazilian singer Ed Motta to sing at his side.
