Buy at http://www.shapeways.com/model/132130/anisotropic_cube.html Copyright (c) 2010, M. Oskar van Deventer. Anisotropic Cube is a mod of Oskar's Gear Cube that is being sold by Mefferts.com: http://www.mefferts.com/products/details.php?lang=en&category=13&id=331. Buy a Gear Cube and replace four of the gearing edges by these four pieces. The result is a puzzle that has all the gearing fun of Gear Cube, but much harder to solve.

This puzzle was 3D-printed using nylon-powder SLS technology, which explains its price. It is the very first prototype, costing its designer and maker a lot of money to create. Please do not confuse it for a cheap mass-produced puzzle.

The mass-produced version is for sale from Mefferts as Gear Cube Extreme: http://www.mefferts.com/products/details.php?lang=en&category=13&id=385

  • I purchased one from shapeways but the only thing that arrived was spare parts and some bubble rap? Where do I go to get my money back?

  • @ahebrawi Hi, this is the description in my Shapeways Shop where you bought those pieces:

"CAUTION: FOUR SPECIAL EDGES ONLY. Anisotropic Cube is a modification of Oskar's Gear Cube that is being sold by Mefferts.com. Buy a Gear Cube and replace four of the gearing edges by these four pieces. The result is ...

These are just the four special pieces. If you want to buy the full puzzle, assembled and sticked, then search the internet for Mefferts and "Gear Cube Extreme"."

  • @OskarPuzzle Thanks, i was reading over the description on the website and found it. Thanks, i guess i'll get a refund. I wanted the whole cube but and read it wrong. Thanks for your help.

  • @ahebrawi Sorry for the confusing. However, I suggest that you buy a Mefferts Gear Cube. When you are done with it, you turn it into this puzzle using the four pieces that you bought.

  • My friend has this, and while scrambling it i solved it...... MAKE IT HARDER!!!!

  • @TankmenAreEpic Then please try Even Less Gears, which has only four gears and it is much harder to solve.
