A brilliantly ridiculous chase scene from the so-so Hong Kong film RUNNING OUT OF TIME 2, starring Ekin Cheng and Lau Ching Wan, directed by Johnnie To.

Lau Ching Wan is a cop and Ekin Cheng is a thief. That's really all you need to know.

If you get a chance, watch the original RUNNING OUT OF TIME, which is actually a damn fine film.

Have fun with this. There are two minutes of set-up and seven minutes of WTF.

  • this video was on the list of suggestions while i was flipping through parkour vids.... this is not parkour. this is dumb.

  • @deurerdan - Thanks for taking the time to type a lameass comment. Move along, kid.

  • The bike chase is basically the same scene filmed at various angles. If you notice YeeKin and ChingWan ride past by the same Mercedes W124s and W126s for the entire scene when they are really suppose to be riding down the street.

  • Take a look at the Carlsbad Beer sign, too, for perspective, or lack thereof.

  • funnier the first time i watched it xpehhaha...but still love this scene ^^

  • I guess "logical" or not is the most important.

  • 两个顽童般男人间的猫鼠游戏~

    超爱这段clip

  • - Getting hit by a car doesn't always kill you. You can get up. If you find that hard to believe then Will Smith in Pursuit Of Happyness must be just as "preposterous".

    - It's not a Hollywood film with unlimited budget. Filming on HK streets is a hassle. A small set was built and they had to make do.

    - If it's the fall, then the chase could've started at late afternoon and run right into the night. Look at the shot before it fades into night. It looks like it's starting to get dark already.

  • Dude, I **love** this scene. But there's a running chase where the cop gets hit by a car and knocked down then gets up and runs again.

There's a bike chase that covers the same forty feet over and over again (watch the ads and signs).

They run from day into night (symbolism, yes, I know).

It's preposterous in a GOOD way. I didn't like the movie, I loved this scene.

    Relax.

  • This one did what was being claimed about the first one but never actually had. An actual cat and mouse chase that was both a physical and mental game. It's so much better than the first one it's not even funny.

And I wasn't talking about the bandwagon on the first one. I was talking about the second one. The fact you call this scene "preposterous" when nothing preposterous is going on is proof of that. The guy is playing with him and the thing is he almost gets caught. What's hard to get?
