  • Is that an original '63 Mosrite that billy is playing? It looks real nice. You guys sound great!

  • Thanks for the comment and question. The Mosrite guitar in this video is a 1984 model built by Semie Mosley (his initials are in the serial number) and he signed the back of the headstock. Billy also owns an all-original 1965 Sunburst Mosrite with the stock VibraMute tailpiece. It's too die for - I've never heard anything like it. By the way, my Mosrite bass is an original 1966 with a single hi-fi pickup, which produces a big thumping sound!

    Thanks again, Charlie Aesque

  • BTW, Walk Down Run was the first record I bought. It was a .45 single and I was 11 when it came out. It was like no other song at the time and it was incredibly influential on the music of the times.

  • Yeah, Walk Don't Run '64 was the record that did it for me. They captured the wet Fender reverb effect so perfectly for that studio session, I haven't heard anything like it since. I still get chills listening to that song.

  • The Ventures were my favorite band in the 60s. I bought every album released in the U.S until about 1974 and I even owned a Ventures model Mosrite. You guys are great and thanks for the memories. The Ventures in Space is still one of my all-time favorite albums. Best!
