RIGHT! NOW! Yes, Lovells Lager has arrived in Australia!
Lovells launched in true rock style at the Annandale Hotel (the 'Dale), in Sydney on 7th May 2008, and you can see some of the bigger than TEX-as results here.
Lovells Lager is the brainchild of ARIA Award winning Australian music producer and master beer drinker Matt Lovell who pioneered the concept whilst at his local indulging his real passions -- friends, independent local music and BEER. As always the music and company were great but the mass manufactured liquid, disguised as beer in his glass, tasted like rubbish. Matt thought to himself "If I can't get a clean, fresh beer without all the rubbish, I'll have to make it myself." LOVELLS PURE LAGER was born.
Performing the Dead Kennedy's classic 'Holiday in Cambodia', this one off group featured: Tex Perkins (The Cruel sea, Tex & The Dark Horses), Chris Joannou (Silverchair), Tim Rogers (You Am I), Paul Dempsey (Something for Kate), Cec Condon (The Mess Hall)
Paying homage to all great moments in rock history, they wrapped the pub in Black Plastic and Lovells Lager was enjoyed by a smattering of local beer drinking, musically inclined talent.
Ask for Lovells at your local (Australia only for now, but ask anyway) and if they don't have it, let us know and we'll get onto it. Then everyone is a WINNER!
