Twinkies and HoHos are yummy
And doughnuts and DingDongs are swell
But I just keep eating
And I get the feeling
That it is beginning to tell
I eat at the caf' every morning
And again at lunch and at night
They serve sixteen types of ice cream
And not a one of them light
Well you know that college kids gain weight
And you've heard of the freshman fifteen
But I'm not a freshman, I'm a sophomore
The biggest one you've ever seen
Yes Pringles and PopTarts are yummy
And Egos and longjohns are swell
But I just keep eating
And I get the feeling
That it is beginning to tell
The caf' serves seven types of french fries
A different deep fry for each day
And every meal has eight entrees
So you can do your food your way
Well I'm not a decisive person
No, indecision's my fall
When I see eight different entrees
I have to try them all
Burritos and nachos are yummy
And pizzas and pastas are swell
But I just keep eating
And I get the feeling
That it is beginning to tell
So help me role out of the diner
And back to my dorm to digest
I've eaten all that I could possibly stand
And now I need time for a rest
I did the frosh fifteen thing last year
But this year I'm headed for more
At the rate that I'm munching, the numbers I'm crunching
Say I'll gain the sophomore twenty-four
Yeah cookies and cheesecakes are yummy
And desserts and ice creams as swell
But I just keep eating
And I get the feeling
That it is beginning to tell

I realize that I'm not fat, but the song actually is rooted in a little bit of truth. I dreamed it up because I had gained 6 lbs at midterm, which, multiplied out to the whole year, would be 24 lbs. Though, it's not going to happen that way. I eat a lot healthier at home, and so it took a little while for my body to adjust to cafeteria food when I came back from summer break. But I'm with it now.
Does the tune sound eerily familiar? It might if you like Reina Del Cid. She has three songs that use a variation of the same theme for their melodies. However, this isn't a copy of her work, but my interpretation of the idea behind it. The words, arrangement, and recording of songs, including this one, are protected by copyright, but the ideas behind them aren't. If, for some inexplicable reason, this plants a little seed of inspiration in your heart, that's great. Get out there and sing and write.
If you're wondering about the little "flair" at the end, it wasn't originally written into the song. I just happened to think of it while playing, and knew that that was something goofy I could do with the chord I was using, and so I did.
