"Until I Find You" is definitely a book that people either love or hate. I've read reviews from people saying that it's either wonderful or an 800 page waste of time. I'd say that if you're an Irving fan and are familar with his unique sense of humor and the often outrageous situations that he puts his characters in, you'll find "Until I Find You" to be worth the massive investment of time it takes to read it. By the way, I've noticed a certain smugness in Irving's writings about himself.

@terriermutt I know what you mean. I loved a few of his novels before I started to notice Irving noticing how 'great'he was. Then it was like carrying a massive carved headstone around. I had to stop reading it. Also I just got bored.

Irving may have been a great american writer in his prime but I absolutely hated this book. 820 pages of pure drivel about unbelieveable characters doing nothing. The first 100 pages are excruciatingly boring. Then the 8 year old main character starts having sex. Unless you find boring uninspired and undeveloped characters enjoyable don't waste you time. I wish I hadn't...
