Class 73/1 No 73136 (E6043) "Perseverance" is seen at West Hoathly (between Horsted Keynes and Kingscote) and Keysford Lane (between Sheffield Park and Horsted Keynes) while working The Wealden Exclusive, which was the first diesel hauled passenger train over the Bluebell Railway, in preservation. 07/03/09

  • Thanks Dave.

  • Lovely shots there mate. Its sad and a happy event, ok thats it the first ever diesel hauled service, no longer 100% steam, but now the Bluebell could attract a few more visitors in the form of Diesel Enthusiasts.

  • Cheers mate. We won't seeing a diesel working a passenger train on the Bluebell again just yet so the services will be back to 100% steam. I do agree that diesel enthusiasts could be attracted to the line, but not at £30 a time to ride behind a diesel! Believe the 73 leaves the Bluebell next week.

  • What a fantastic video Craig, capturing this historic moment in the history of the Bluebell Railway...well chosen locations...5* Bob

  • Thanks very much Bob. One of the locations, Keysford Lane, was new to me. Only discovered it while passing by the day before!

  • Great Video! 5 *****

  • I don't think It's sad.. i think it's great.! The Bluebell was once 100% steam.. now it isn't, The sooner the bluiebell gets hold of a DEMU before the East Grinstead bit is finished, the better. Then we can have a realistic route covering all the decades up to the original closure of the line.

  • Very good video. Like the hornage from the crew on 136!

  • Cheers.

  • Thanks.

  • Cheers Luke.
