quick question, did you rloud tick almost sound like one of those big wheels you spin down at the shore?
-
ok i have had the same problem with my 4g63 and i put bigger lifters in i suggest running a bit heaver oil that helped my problem but i had to eventually just swapped them around and now i have no problem so try this it may help
-
@GodspeedAdam "what you do is redline it"
LOL

PEople check ur rod bearingz! I replaced entire cylinder heads along wit springs lifters.and rocker arms! Its rod bearings and his has progresssed baaaaadly!

whoa buddy. Do not start that car im 110 percent sure its not a lifter tick. Take apart the driver side subframe half, exhaust, n drop the oil pan. Push by hand on cylinders 2 thru four youll see the problem. Same thing happened to me on my 97 3000gt showed good oil pressure but its bcuz the damage is done already from prior abuse it take a weekend to do costs fifty buck if u mess up the crank by startin it u got a dead motor check that out dude
-
ya you would have no oil pressure if it was a bearing.
-
lifter tick 95% of 1st gen 3kgts do it till 99 when they started usein 3mm bores in the lifters
-
Doesnt that mean your lifters arent getting enough oil therefore wouldnt it be an oil pump?
-
your lifters just have to fill up with oil. what you do is redline it for 5 seconds, then keep stepping down a grand and hold for 5 seconds each time untill u get down to idle speed. it will fill those badboys right up with oil. and this is a professional method.
Idling was fine, right around 1000 rpm at the beginning of this video and then around 700 after I adjusted the base idle screw at the end of the video. It turns out this really was just lifter tick. After a run around the block, the tick is almost completely gone now.
