  • At 0:52, Steffi hit 2 handed back hand.

  • @kljMN2

Martina refused to be rushed by Steffi.

    But didn't refuse to lose.

    Which is what counts.

  • I love how Martina refuses to be rushed by Steffi, taking her time between points.

  • sascahmen76, don't wind up in singsing.

  • At 7:27, Steffi hits a short forehand that Bud calls a "buggy whip" forehand. This is was not Steffi's normal swing profile. Almost always, Steffi finished with her racquet on her left side. But, on this shot, she ends with the racquet flipping over her right shoulder.

  • At 6:17, Steffi beats Martina at her own game. So much for Martina's topspin backhand.

  • At 5:34, Steffi shows how much creativity and control she has on the backhand side.

  • At 5:17, there is a replay which shows how flexible Steffi is at the top of her service motion. For those figure skating fans, her back is almost in a complete layback position. The serve is a topspin serve. The cues are the position of her body at the top of the service motion and the swing profile. See how she finishes with her racquet hanging to the right of her. That shows you how extreme the pronation has been on the serve.

  • I think the hairspray got in the way.....

  • what a hairdo 4 Martina!
