CAMPBELL RIVER -- Advocates connected with Campbell River's homeless community are shocked and saddened following the deaths of two men this weekend.
The bodies of both individuals were found in wooded but police do not believe the deaths are connected.
Sgt. Craig Massey of the Campbell River RCMP said people discovered the body of the first man, while cutting through Nunns Creek Park around 2am on
Saturday morning. After investigating the scene police determined that there did not appear to be any foul play in the 57 year old man's death.
The body of a 67-year-old man was then discovered approximately 12 hours later in a wooded area behind a video store on Dogwood Ave,
Massey said RCMP are waiting for autopsy reports to determine the exact cause of death for the two men. Police have not released the names of the
individuals and are in the process of notifying their next of kin.
