How to root the Cdma Hero(Sprint) Jan/17/2010

Here Is The Way to root the htc hero to the new recovery image( 1.5.2 )

The Files you will need is: flashrec-1.1.3-20091107-2.apk

and recovery-RA-heroc-v1.5.2.img http://www.mediafire.com/?mnzdym2z3ki

Copy both of them onto the root of your Sd card
--Note: Dont put into any folders.

Once you have the files on your Sd card, Download "Astro File Manager" and open it.

Then open " Flashrec.apk " Install Open it.
Before you do anything in the open field type /sdcard/recovery-RA-heroc-v1.5.2.img
After that click restore backup image.
After that click Flash Recovery Image.

Done With that go home, turn off the phone.
Then Hold the power Button and Vol Down Button and click home.
Congratulations You have successfully Rooted Your Sprint Htc Hero.

i have the ntelos hero, and when i go to flash the recovery img, it says backup recovery image not restore back up image

been tryin to do this for about 17 hours now and i keep gettin the same error when i open flashrec in the astro man. i read your steps and watched this video neither explained why im getting it and both skip this step. you show it after it was recovered just showing the restore point. show me or explain the backup point
