one of the biggest differences between the 700r4 and 4L60E is that the 700 uses a governor to set shifts and the 4L60 is an electronic computer controlled transmission. other than that they both have basically all the same parts in them. you do know what the numbers in the name mean? it's a torque rating from gm. they now have the 700 up to a 70 rating and maybe even higher now. still nothin close to the 4L80's though

Alright so hold on... this isnt a true sy/ty. I thought they were AWD, right? If thats true then why would you mod that out to a rear wheel? Just askin.

yeah..They are all pretty much the same except maybe a checkvalve.Honestly...ive never been a fan of the 700R4 solely because they cant handle extreme abuse..i do like them if you dont beat on them. I liked my old 1965 Buick Skylark with the Super Turbine 300 with the variable pitch stator.I think i put 700,000 miles on it in 4 different vehicles Agreed on the 4L80 but theyre really pricey..then again if you have a Syclone...you should be able to afford it.lol

there was a vid of someone running a beefed up 200R4 and the lightning rods out of a 84 Hurst/Olds in his Typhoon.Ran like stink.lol

I'm on 7 or 8 of them in two different trucks. A 4L60 is the same trans as a 700R4.

lol...he grabbed it out of a 93 Blazer...and its held for 10 years.he dusted his original 3 times before that.lol

I thought the Typhoon was all wheel drive.

@salemcripple They are. I removed the front propshaft so I could tune it on a rear wheel drive dyno. Back in 1999, there were not many all wheel drive dynos around.
