  • is the sound in this video been captured with the pxl 2000 or the other camcorder?

  • The audio and video were captured by the PXL 2000, but I was running the audio/video into a camcorder. I had a/v jacks added to my PXL awhile back.

The camcorder gives you a lot longer running time...but most importantly, you can see what you are recording and tell if you have enough light or not.

  • The quality of the audio and video is quite suprising.

  • Yeah, this is from a modified PXL that had a/v output jacks added to it. I then recorded using a camcorder. Recording on cassette tapes is more "authentic" in that the picture can be wavy and you hear the whirring of the tape motor. The biggest camcorder advantage though is that you can see exactly what you are recording + longer recording time. I know there is a spot in the other Soapbox movie I made where you can see me move the light filter because the picture wasn't turning out.

  • I no longer own a pxl-2000 camera.but I have saved six casset tapes from way back ,when the pxl-2000 first came out . is there any one that would charge me less than the priceof a pxl-2000 camera to transfer my old cassets to a digital format so that i would be able to watch them on my PC

  • I love the PXL, but it's too sharp when you shoot tethered to a decent deck. The tape distortion is what gives it it's true charm in my opinion.

  • I've always been interested in experimental lo-res TV of the 1920s and 30s. Pixelvision, which gives about 90 lines of resolution, gives an idea of what TV might have looked like then.

  • that's cool. I just found out about Fisher Price PXL 2000!
