@bluesdog88 Glucose is a primary energy source and should be derived from complex, fiber dense carbohydrates. The body converts carbohydrates into glucose for energy and glycogen for reserve energy. The other primary energy source is fat. Complex carbohydrates should make up the bulk of all of our meals but even when a person is fasting, the body will draw on the energy reserves of glycogen to fuel the body.
My diabetic educator told me that I have t eat carbs at every meal because that is the only food that the body can convert to glucose to fuel my cells, is this right?
