I have read a lot of 'books' comments and come to the inevitable conclusion that he is really not a very nice person.

They preserve his house. But they didn't preserve his words. The reason you can't find the Bayan, the Bab's book, is because the Baha'is themselves extirpated it; destroyed all copies that they could find. The Bayan's contents don't match, you see, with what the modern Baha'i Faith ended up becoming. And the Bayan gives the strong impression that glory-man Mirza Hussain, who took the name "Glory of God" and sidelined the Bab's successor, is illegitimate.
