@Nascarking24 CBS didn't bid on the new deal because: 1. They had just recently won the rights to broadcast the AFC from NBC, so that eliminated the Fall races. 2. FOX/FX and NBC/TNT bid extremely high for the rights. CBS, who had already spent a large chunk of money to get the AFC rights were outbid. 3. NASCAR wanted to organize the TV schedule, to make it easier for the fans. Once again, this left CBS with little options. But with their NCAA and Masters coverage, it just wasn't feasible.

@packertown I know how there not broadcasting NASCAR races anymore because NASCAR made all race deals centralized but why didn't CBS sign on to the 01 television deal back in 99?
-
Come on bro, show the rest of the race!!

FYI If there came a day CBS returned to NASCAR chances are it won't be as good as the 90's since pretty much all of the announcers are either retired (like Ned Jarret &Ken Squire) or work for FOX (like Mike Joy) and we'd have NFL announcer covering the races like Jim Nantz and Phil Simms. And they'd replace this theme with garbage to appeal to my age group i.e. 13-17 & 18-21

THIS made it sound grand and interesting, dramatic...now, this CUNTry and other crap makes it sound like a moronic redneck festival.
AND FUCK DIGGER, and FUCK FOX

This was when NASCAR was NASCAR, not the cobbed together thing they call NASCAR now!

Wow memeories. I heard this every weekend when I first started watching NASCAR.
CBS treated NASCAR with respect. FOX considers it just another show for FOX Sports.
