yes i would agree that it was an act of love but people recognize this for finishing the race while he was injured. ive looked through the comments and thats what it seems like to me. just look at the visa commercial.
I think you guys have gotten away from the point of the vid. It's not that he finished the race while injured. Many people do that and they get applauded or whatever at the end. like you said earlier, it's not that big of a deal, it happens. The point is that a father was willing to run out there and help his son finish the race because he didn't want him to struggle alone. whether he needed help or not it's an awesome example of love and always being there for the ones we care about.
Mano, he had 8 surgeries prior to that. He had pulled from the 400 meter 90 sec before it began because of a injury to his Achilles. This was his last shot. He was 27 yrs old, that is OLD in short to mid distance racing. OK no more Olympics. But one thing I can tell you from my past is that once you have had surgeries and then you feel something go "pop" it's not the same as it is the first time it happens.
and dont go with the olympics argument; we all know it was a big race but i believe he wouldve received the same support even if it wasnt the olympics. and i dont agree with it because i finished the race and didnt think of it as such a big deal. yes it does take guts and i respect him for finishing but i believe his effort was overrated. some may think this is offensive but they cant really argue with me because they havent been in a situation like that and i have.
you keep on bringing it back to life let it die man. you make a lot of sense saying that you want me to stop posting and youre the reason i havent stopped. and when did i say that i was better than him? but ok do i think im have better pain tolerance than he does? yes i think i do. its not so much that i finished it by myself its that i didnt make such a big deal.
omg that was such a long time ago. i know the olympics are huge but please let it rest. i already said what i had to say whatever you wish to believe is your deal. you dont have to reply to my comment just keep it to yourself.
Yo homie, (homeworksuks). You have no clue what the Olumpics mean. Any other race is a race. But in the Olympics it's THE RACE. Please do us all a favor and stop posting here.
