I see a lot of blacks from New York moving down here to the Metro Atlanta area. I use to live in a townhouse and almost half of the people on my street were NY natives. It's funny because the same thing is happening down here in Atlanta. Whites are moving to the city( Atlanta) and blacks, latinos and other minorities are moving towards the suburbs and the surrounding parts of Atlanta. A lot of black neighborhoods in the city are becoming mainly white. I agree. It's sad.

  • @BlankDVD Why eat land rubbery chicken when you have French and Italian cooking. Why do the charleston when you have classical music. Thanks for nothing.

  • I think whats going to happen is that NYC will become a yuppie city and u will notice that a lot blacks , latinos and others will probaly move back South where its much cheaper to live, it will be the oppostie of the great migration to the North. Its sad to see this happen :(

  • People should look into the history of this area. It was NOT originally a black sub. People are afraid of progress. Neighborhoods change because people change. This is why you'd want your children to succeed further than yourself, generation wise. People that refuse will be left behind and out. Educate yourselves and prosper.

  • The US is a fuckin big ass corporation.

  • the rich whites don't care about gentrification or who it hurts all they care about is making big profits out of moving people out and redevelopments. Good bye local record shacks, clothing stores, mon-n-pop restaurants and hello to starbucks and jumba juice.

  • I brought my frist cd from that store when i was a kid in the early 90's... Ah man!!!!

  • I agree ray if you do look back the main problem all citys are having specially n.y. is the trendiness which comes from affordability we need to keep rent control laws so we can keep our neighbors and friends close no matter what race you are in or belong to cmon n.y. is a melting pot...

  • It's called capitalism. Deal with it.

  • For what? The blatant hypocrisy of your argument?

Funny that it's just "social change" when the white ethnics are driven out by negroes, mestizoes, etc but when the negroes are "gentrified" by wealthy, upper-class whites CALL THE WAAAAAMBULANCE! RACISM! DESTRUCTION OF A "HISTORICALLY BLACK" (yet funny how no neighbourhoods can EVER be defended for being "historically white") NEIGHBOURHOOD!
