  • Ordered this last night! Can't wait for my worms... Anyone know if freezing your kitchen scraps before feeding them to the worms is necessary? I do this for composting outdoors.

  • @Ponthel Freezing your kitchen scraps is not necessary, but it can be helpful! For one, freezing your scraps allows you a little more control over feeding. If you go through tons of compostables, freezing some is a good way to assure that you're not overfeeding. And secondly - freezing your scraps, especially the fruit variety, is a great way to reduce the likelihood of fruit flies and other pests. Freezing scraps kills off their eggs. The trade-off is less nutritional content in the scraps.

  • I should get my WF 360 this week. I have the home made bin and it does work well but this seems 100% better.
