Having been given the great gift of this free nation by God, it is the Christian's responsibility to care for and protect it. One day each of us will stand before God. Our salvation will not be in question, but how will we each respond when He asks us what we did to protect the priceless gift that He gave us? I don't want to have to hang my head in shame. I want to hear, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

The Israelites were the first nation on earth to dedicate themselves to God. "Choose you this day Whom you will serve." Joshua answered, "As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." The United States of America was the second nation in history to do this in our Declaration of Independence. Israel prospered as long as it served God. The United States prospered as long as it served God. But our God is a righteous God who is too holy to look upon sin. God help us.

Praying for leaders is in no way the same as "being engaged with the process" by voting and/or campaigning; we are to pray for our enemies - does that mean we participate in their activities? Of course not. Amen, we are to be salt & light, but neither salt nor light are politics! The "resounding Biblical answer" to should a Christian be political is 2 Timothy 2:4 - if politics are an affair of this life (which they self evidently are), then it is NO! Read John 18:36. I am a patriot to Heaven!

@1Atomtan non sense? think twice.

@MrTerry428 And you are no Christian and don't have a clue what salvation and grace are. You are a Pharisee. In Christ's words, of your father the devil. The problem with Christians seeking high office in the system we have today, if winning is a consideration, is it requires COMPROMISE. How in the world do you think a Christian can flee an appearance of evil and run for hight political office and win?

@GutpileCharlie Get it in your hart- GOD CONTROLS EVERYTHING! He is in full control of evil. Nothing bad ever happens without Him allowing it. Read book of Job. All the "bad stuff" that happens serves its particular purpose. It could be a punishment for something or a wake up call. So if you want something to change, then pray about that issue, ask God for mercy. Prayer is THE BEST weapon we have against all evil.

I guess the Jehovah's Witnesses may have been wrong about the fact of whether or not Christians should participate in politics. I just am uncertain of whether or not we as a nation should even bother for I think it's all rigged, and corrupt. It's almost like screaming for help while alone a mile under deep waters. If you catch my drift. I like Ron Paul, but dislike his views on Isreal as it stands.

Why should I vote once again for the "lesser of two evils"? Every "conservative"candidate we have(wte of Ron Paul) are the exact opposite of what conservatism is. Our media and establishment politicians are trying to sweep Ron under the rug.... he is a threat.
NO CHRISTIAN CAN BE A DEMOCRAT AND IF SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE A CHRISTIAN AND A DEMOCRAT IS LYING THERESELF TO HELL.
