  • 2:14 he actually looks pretty manly there.

  • Shun is not as soft as some would think when he first appeared on the scene. I would say his characterization was fairly competitive and aggressive. His character became softer as time passes.

  • That's not Yaoi. It would be Yaoi if it's a manga created for women AND with fairly explicity sexual acts. Yaoi existed since the 1970's, about a decade before Saint Seiya. If the intent was in any way Yaoi-like, it certainly wasn't obvious because Saint Seiya is not a manga for girls. That said, the relationships between main characters in Saint Seiya can be ambiguous, as were the case, in the ancient time. It's fine however the fans want to draw their own conclusions.

  • Officially, no. However, Masami Kurumada (Saint Seiya's author) definitely expressed quite a bit of homo-erotism in his creation. Some of which fit quite nicely in the context of Greece in antiquity but as well as Japan's own cultural past re: relationships between warriors. Mr. Kurumada did a lot of homework in translating the the real world into his Manga. Hades's Elysion for instance is Paris in the real world, where the tower of Hades status is literaly the Place Vendome there.
