@matthiasdewilde92186 this is not a music tv show. it's a debate with several intellectuals/artists about what's on actualites, that take place every night. A musician comes at the end to close the show, which is very likable but after 1 hour of listening the debate, the crowd likes to stay soft that's all.

It's a very good show by the way.

Look, I don't want to get into a debate, but this is not jazz. It's inconsequential monotonic meanderings on a piano that never get off the ground.

@straightshooterable You are quite to judge he's not trying to go anywhere with it, he's being different, he is highlighting one of the key features of modern jazz, its huge link into world music, so many influences and although there is little thematic development i rather enjoy the contrast of the original material with the syncopated rhythms and the rather middle eastern sound he makes with the self prepared piano!

The pianist picked the "material" (i.e., meaningless, juvenile dirge) and interpreted it. I blame him entirely. It speaks volumes about his muscianship and integrity.
