apologies for responding to such an old post but my aspire one 250 (1Gig ram) boots ubuntu from pressing the power button to the login screen in 30. You just need to spend a couple of minutes tinkering.
would love to know if this is ssd or hdd. ssd linpus was meant to boot in 12 seconds on ssd aa1, i know my hdd only takes about 30 seconds. still folks, remember it takes well over a minute, sometimes two, on my vista 1.16 3gb ram dell running (ho ho!) vista.
I just thought of something, any chance you could post how much RAM you have, and whether its an SSD or a "normal" HDD? And whether its factory, or if you added to it.
Overall its kind of sad though, I mean I've got Ubuntu loaded on my Acer Aspire One and it takes over 40 sec to boot, so 15 seconds is impressive, but considering Intel has been talking about less than 5 second boots, and saying their goal is 2 seconds, 15 seems like a huge letdown given the hype.
Up until 0:21 is the loader where you choose which OS to boot, it isnt until 0:21 that it chooses Moblin and starts to boot.
Then you have a full desktop at 0:36, so its 15 seconds.
To take away that time with the OS chooser thing up there, you could go in and change it so that it only waits like 1 second, or not at all, but seeing as it looks like youve got something else loaded on there as well, youd probably wanna keep it on.
