Despite the storm that swept through downtown just minutes before the scheduled Plant Peace Stop the Violence rally co-hosted by the OSU Youth Violence Prevention Advisory Board and the Coalition for a Non-Violent Columbus, we marched from the Riffe Conference Center to City Hall to release purple balloons to represent the victims of gun violence in our City since January 1, 2011. We acknowledge the pain of losing valuable members of our community. Youth banded together with adults to spread a powerful stop the violence, start the peace message. We are coming together to change history. Let's put violence in the past like other epidemics!
