As the summer draws to a close, the hummingbirds are filling up on nectar. Here, I try holding a feeder. Within moments, nearly a dozen of them ambush me, landing on my fingers to feed. At one point, two hummers stuck their beaks into my ear canal and lapped my eardrum! I kid you not.

  • Yes! The Ruby Throated can be found all the way up the east coast.  And, the more feeders you put out, the more hummers you'll see...

  • i tried this all day -once---and the bird kept watching me from a tree and did not once approach. How do you get it to approach you and feed from your hand ?

  • thats awesome i live in new jersey do you think if i put up a feeder they would come here? ive only seen like 5 humming birds in my life here in jersey but ive never put up a feeder before.
