Hitoshi Sakimoto's soundtrack for Final Fantasy XII was a huge departure from the usual musical style of the FF series. Perhaps for this reason, it never got a Piano Collections album of its own. I'm a big fan of both Sakimoto and the main arranger for many Piano Collections books, Shiro Hamaguchi. The piano style used in Hamaguchi's arrangements has been my main inspiration for creating a series of Sakimoto tracks for piano. This is the first one.

Arranging Sakimoto to piano is hard, since the pieces are so dense. It takes time to condense the essence of a song into only a single voice. "The Skycity of Bhujerba" had a nice sweeping melody that translated well onto the keyboard. This recording is a draft, you may notice some little errors and a big slowdown at the end (mainly because I was making the end up as I went along).
