We go to the sand zone in wich doctor booster Asighned me this deathful mission.We also fight Curly Brace and get the machine gun.

Yeah I know and I am good at using that machinegun just wait until I get to the triple boss fight.Also I've seen some videos about hell and it seems that the spur will be a pretty good weapon there.

I know I could have gotten the spur, but that is all strenth and I want more agility.Also when the triple boss fight it will be good for doging yet hitting at the same time.This makes the undead core level a whole lot easyer.Plus the spur is best at the final cave,but thats just one level.

i see what you are trying to say, agility does beat power, but consider this:

if you have a weapon all agility and no power you have to learn how to use that agility to compansate for the power, same concept with spur. so i understand your reason for the machinegun. however, you wont be able to pull of the megaman trick with the machinegun which comes in handy during the boss "gauntlet". basicly what i am now saying is that different weapons posses different abilitys and can do different things.

umm..weregreymon..you just missed getting the spur. a weapon that penantrates enemys and when fully charged deals 50-100 damage...yea.

so. according to the cave story website, miraigamer, this is the damage:

lvl 3 machinegun:6 damage

lvl 3 spur(fully charged):50-100

spur has around a 5 sec full charge so you CAN deal more damage WITH the spur in a min then you can with the machineguns RoF with six damage per shot, even though the machinegun can act like a jet pack..you should have had the spur
