Time to Readjust (excerpt)

For many years Ian Helliwell has been making electronic music collages, and experimenting with sound visualisation. Bringing these 2 ongoing interests together, he revisited an old video monitor he rewired in the mid-1990s, which displays abstract patterns on the screen generated by stereo audio signals.
The modified crt monitor displays moving patterns in accordance with an audio input; for this film a recent sound collage was fed into the monitor, activating the patterns on the screen, which were then filmed with a video camera.
