Echo carb needs adjusting!
-
Try cleaning and adjusting the Echo carb. And lower the idle. It will run way better and cut better then it does now.

@mjmcomputers i just got a Ryobi for 40 dollars (unused) and its powerful.

well duh the jd cuts better...it has way more power!!! but echo tools are the only way to go...but try a straight shaft...tons of difference!!

Comparing a smaller curved shaft Echo to a larger straight shaft (any brand) decent trimmer is not a valid comparison at all. You might try comparing a 1/2 ton pickup with a tandom wheel dump truck to see which one hauls the most. Echo makes an awesome trimmer that will stand up to any, and surpass most, when compared to an equal size trimmer.

@Jerald9348 The motor size on the curved shaft echos is the same size as on their straight shaft trimmers. I wasn't trying to compare which brand is better, I was just comparing 2 free weedeaters that I have.

that 2 piece shaft gets mad loose after a year or 2. echo will also last you 10-20 years. homelite maybe 5

the date code on the homelite is 04-02. So its either 5 or 7 yrs old. The shaft isn't loose at all, it runs great, and starts easier than the echo.
