"La ci darem la mano" from 'It Happened in Brooklyn'(1947) from "Don Giovanni" Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte Sung by Kathryn Grayson and Frank Sinatra
@songster56 That's exactly what I meant. I meant that Frank does a great job. The only thing I meant by saying he was sub-par was that, compared to Grayson who WAS classically trained, he really held his own and it is very impressive. I love him
@inkenyo I don't understand your comment. You said you really enjoy this scene and admit that Frank does a damn good job with the operatic piece and then say that that his voice was actually subpar for the role. Obviously if he was able to hit the notes to do the song then his voice wasn't sub par for the role. Keep in mind that he wasn't a trained opera singer and didn't have the kind of booming voice that hits the rafters but he was able to hit high notes when needed.
Everytime I watch this movie I watch THIS SCENE about 4 times. I love it so much. Frank does a damn good job eventhough his range really was sub part for the role. He really holds his own against Grayson. Plus, he's very adorable!
