This isnt a "republican" idea. This isnt a Libertarian idea. This isnt a democrat idea. This is a GOOD idea. Is everyone aware that the Fair Tax plan was conceived by a group of non-partisan scholars and professionals that worked on the best possible system for this country for around 20 years? You people think youve got it figured out more than them? It always is amusing to see these goof balls try to come up with reasons why the fair tax wont work. The Fair Tax is quite simply, brilliant.

You think because you have some scholar who agrees with you, you must be right??? Do you think everyone with a genius IQ agrees on every important issue facing the country??? The phraze "fair tax" is nothing more than propoganda like "Patriot Act" or "Leave no child behind". The fair tax is not fair. It'll reduce my taxes dramatically and cut revenue to the treasury so our debt will sky rocket causing out dollar to crash. I hate dealing with morons.

@Pawnthief - Not even close. The FairTax is designed to be revenue neutral. That is, it will bring in the same amount of revenue the socialist income tax does. Remember, business does not pay taxes. They have a tax BURDEN, but consumers pay their taxes for them in the form of higher prices. Taxing "the rich" will just mean the money moves off-shore and can't be taxed. So that socialist crap is a non-starter. When taxes go up, havens appear, accountants become artists and revenue drops. Fact.

DISCLAIMER FOR THOSE SERIOUS ABOUT DISCUSSING THE FAIRTAX: Sincere, intellectually honest debate is ALWAYS welcome, but ignore the person known as 12FlyMe/NawwLeans/Bullship Detector, etc. He continually posts a rash of lies, slanders, name-calling, and general nonsense, and has no interest in honest debate on HR25. This guy in the video is pretty much right.

The main problem though is that we tax real work and production too much -- ordinary income, wages, self employed, pay 300% higher taxes than anyone else.

But we put little if any tax onunearned income like credit swaps, hedge funds, leverage buy outs, capital gains, etc.

By punishing work and rewarding bullshit, we have destabilized the economy.

God bless unearned income, but quit taxing work - production 300% higher.

Whoever posted here that under Fairtax, you get 2000 a month to pay taxes -- nonsense.

Fairtax is a crock of crapola. The "prebate" is not near 2000 a month. Its less than 200.

The prebate is full of crap - it does NOT cover all your taxes on essentials - not if you have cancer or get hurt. Because ALL medical cost have to pay this lunatic sales tax - the world's highest -- if you got cancer, you could EASILY have 50K just in sales tax.
