  • @TimBraggMusic yeah amazing song, so powerful! Thx for the info, I'll check it out. rock on Bro!!

  • @stingray1964 - it appears on Remembering Part 1 ( I think.) I recall hearing the version with Gary Moore on the radio - amazing! Follow-up single to Randolph's Tango...If you haven't heard GM's version you're going to love it - big brass sounds also!

  • This song reminds me some of Paul McCartney's stuff circa "Band on the Run" (something like "Jet")...

  • thanks man!!!

    I'll check it out...

  • They never released it on a official album, but you can find the studio verion on the first peel sessions or the box set vegabonds, warrior, kings.gary moore and scott gorham played guitar on those stidio versions.

  • Okay...I recently bought a disc of their 75 UK tour with Robbo and Scott and it was on there but I had never heard it before. Great song...!

    thx Bro!

  • It was recorded in the studio with Gary Moore in April '74. It was released as a single at that time. That version has appeared on the "Vagabonds, Kings, Warriors, Angels" boxset since.

  • What album is this song from (it's not on Night Life??)...did they do a studio recording of it or is it just a cover..? Is it from the Eric Bell years maybe...?

    thx...

  • I saw Andy Gee with Ellis in 72 supporting the Groundhogs. He was a great guitarist and did some fantastic solos that night. When I read in the music papers that he'd joined Thin Lizzy I couldn't wait.

This recording is the first time I've heard this lineup and it didn't really work, did it? As soon as it starts you can spot that there's guitar out of tune. Thank God for Robertson and Gorham saving the day.

  • What a terrific song. The intonation's a bit dodgy, and somebody needed to learn how to voice chord inversions on the chorus:-), but Phil's vocal is *primo*, and the solos are good.
