David Neale, VP of Special Projects at RIM showing off multitasking, 1080p playback on the BlackBerry PlayBook.

Not fully-optimized, still running single-core (instead of dual) yet still looking very slick!!

Rogers TabLife event (http://www.tablife.ca/) at Rogers HQ, Velma Theatre: 333 Bloor St East, Toronto, Ontario on Friday, December 3rd, 2010.

  • Am i the only one who noticed the guy in the left chair at the end had an iPad!?

  • @greenscreeningthings This wasn't a _BlackBerry_ event. It was a tablet event. Speakers from Deloitte, University of Toronto (using tablets to deal with autism), and business.

Rogers also gave away a Samsung Galaxy Tab and a Dell Streak.

  • that was legit, i really think this is going to be an amazing device. im not an apple hater or anything but the multitasking alone makes this a better device than the ipad. ipad 2 however, we will see.... but for this playbook i love it so far. release it!

  • And if you enjoy comparing gestures, assuming that they make the OS...

I suppose the BB-OS, Windows-OS, iOS and many others are all the exactly same too because they pinch-to-zoom?

also in my opinion, give RIM some credit. this is really the first time the are stepping out of their comfort zone with some pretty good results.

  • anyone else realize he was giving us all the finger >:|

  • @SuperSF49er Yeah I saw that in another video that you have the choice to turn that running video option off. Thanks. It sure looks like an amazing device. I hope RIM does well with it. Its always to have good competition.

  • @rabznath , as per the reports confirmed by RIM that running a video in the background is left to the user's discretion by some configuration options available on the PB and one can enable or disable the option depending on ones need. They are some valid use cases where you want to quickly check on something like email, facebook etc while watching a movie and without interrupting it .

  • @Buckethelm , indeed Palm copied task switcher from current Blackberry OS and added touch gestures(pull up and card swipe), apart from touch gestures how is this different from BB task switcher?

  • Looks nice. But I don't get why the video is still running the background when I am not viewing it. Its killing battery life while doing that!!

  • Well, that's just a pure copy of webOS... the worst will be that people will think webOS copies Blackberry when the PalmPad (or so...) HP tablet will be launched... :(

  • Looks promising. Also looks a lot like WebOS.

  • did u notice that guy was giving us the middle finger

  • @oliverbeing I didn't know rogers is a mobile network...I checked online my apologies.......
