Explore beautiful Kauai, Hawaii in HD by helicopter, ocean raft, and kayak. Scenes include the Napali Coast, the Kalalau trail, Hanakapi'ai Falls, the Waiahuakua sea cave, the open ceiling cave, Ho'olulu Sea Cave, the Wailua River, the Secret Waterfall, and Mount Waialeale crater (the wettest place on earth).

Filmed on the island of Kauai over 9 days. This video gives a brief tour of the island and its adventures and sights.

For the shots, we went kayaking, boating on the Napali Coast for sea caves, and took a helicopter ride into the Waialaelae crater. It's estimated as much as 75% of Kauai is inaccessible due to forests. Thanks to Napali Riders for the boat, Mauna Loa helicopters, and Wailua Kayak and Canoe.

Filmed by Patrick Shyu, starring Henrick Shyu. Music by Garnet Crow.
Recorded on a Canon S95, stabilized with Mercalli v2, edited in Premiere.

  • hi, what helicopter company did u use and do u recommend them?

  • @LaUrAadventureSeeker We used Mauna Loa Helicopters. We chose them for two reasons: doors-off option, and guaranteed window seating (2x2 seating configuration). They're definitely a good way to go if you want fantastic photos of your trip, but you might consider a cheaper tour operator otherwise. The weather in Kauai can be pretty cloudy some days, so be ware of that! We also had equally as much fun on the Napali Riders ocean raft, so check that out too.

  • The canon s95 actually has a larger sensor than many professional camcorders or those GoPro's. So, the image quality should be "above average" here. Kauai is very very scenic though, much more than I thought.

  • Thanks for the info. I will check them out :)

  • @focustwo Thank you so much for responding. Great job on your video, really enjoyed watching it!

  • I didn't find it jerky at all, pretty darn great quality for a P & S camera that came out over a year ago. Love the 24fps look, Well done...

  • Beautiful scenery; however, I am not a fan of jerky video. I find it frustrating not to be able to actually linger a tiny bit over the subject matter especially lovely landscapes such as these.
