Runs, starts good, 1959 435D Tractor with Serial # 435217. Rear tires not matched and one has a slow leak but are 80% or so, fronts have some normal weather checking and 6-70%. Sheet metal is all pretty straight. Original hour meter at 3,670 but not turning it seems. Temp. gauge isn't working but amp and oil pressure are and oil pressure is real good for a 2 Cylinder at 25 lbs. where it should be. I have seen these with new paint and tires sell at collector auctions for $13,000 and over $15,500 in MI that sold that I have the link to. This 435 is located in the Midwest and can help with delivery quote on long distances at .60 mile one way. Call Robert C. Moline at (512) 573-8359 or email me for all details or more pics: www.TheTractorBarn.com - also have a running JD 440 Industrial yellow Gas Tractor with Loader (bucket rusted) in the same spot that looks fair and power steering is out, but it starts and runs good. $3,300.
Good question. Off the top of my head I know the 440 had it and then the 445 which John Deere made in Argentina in the 1960s. There may be others but those are the main 2 I know of. Robert Moline

Was this the only John Deere to be produced with a Detroit Diesel engine?

@deere435 Sounds like it might be some metal on the tractor itself rattling somewhere, but if it is indeed the engine...... Ruh roh. You don't just come upon a 2-53 parts engine everyday anymore

i believe that the engine has an excessive rattle, compared to my 4-435's that has a louder bottom end. just saying
