@mic33george I'm pretty sure it was written in the 20's and performed on Broadway by the late, great Peggy Wood, a definite beauty in her day!

I have had tunnel vision due to my love of the Roy Fox Monseigneur version, but Sam has stolen my heart.
-
Lovely echoey recording, Ambrose has always been a favorite of mine, and now this one is!
-
The tune is different, yes, the lyrics the same.
-
Ambrose nearly "fatally" stands for an "awesome" rating and favouriting!

Looked it up and found in my collection an excellent one too (1928) by the Nat Shilkret Orchestra, do you know that one?

I think this was written for the 1932 show,so the Shilkret one is likely to be a different tune with the same name.

I'm saying it was written for the show, like the great expert, but maybe it wasnt!I really ought to research things before up-loading songs!
