Gettysburg & Back: 2nd South Carolina String Band; SOUTHERN SOLDIER

This great live string band performed at The 145th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in 2008, at a farm just north of the battlefield where a reenactment was held. (Hey 2nd SCSB, please come and perform in Chicago!) PLEASE NOTE: This video is posted for the purpose of enjoying the history of the Civil War, and not because I personally support the confederacy, etc.. My Great, great Grandfather was a Union soldier who fought to preserve the Union and to emancipate the slaves, a fact of which I am very proud. (Racist comments will be removed)

@louvregroove i do understand your point about not supporting a racist government, i support the confederacy because my ancestors gave their lives for it not to preserve slavery but to fight the injustices the tyranical lincoln administration commited, it is a part of my heritage i will not ignore, i will support it proudly because to not support it would be disrespectful to my ancestors, my family and my state of VA

@juiced24valve....In my opinion, the choices made by Lincoln made us what we are today The United States of America...one nation, rather than a set of separate countries like Europe or Asia. Remember that both Northern and Southern states/colonies joined to free themselves from the tyranny of The British Empire in the Revolutionary War. We would not be the one powerful, great nation today were it not for the difficult decisions Lincoln made to fight a Civil War to preserve the Union.

I was born in the south, Louisiana. The Confederacy was not a "race", but a system of government that justified enslaving & expoliting human beings for economic gain. The north/Federal gov. also exploited human beings in various ways. I do not consider myself pro-north or anti-south in any way. I am against any form of government that does not respect the rights & the dignity of any human being, whether the are from the south, north, east, west, or of any race.
