I'm going to have to say that this is Lupe having fun. He always has to dig deep and write songs that would take one normal artist years to write because he's so complex and no one understands his style of music. "It's over they head, like carry-on luggage" Haha. But he wrote this to show the ignorant boys that he can rip a current gangsta rapper at their OWN style. Which is insane.

yeah, i started getting into lupe when the cool came out, but thanks to youtube and mixtape websites i got to see his early gangsta stuff. im all for positivity, but you know im a fan of that ignorant gangsta shit to lol. but i understand how and why lupe changed it up. he still beast it up either way though. its sort of like how andre 3000 was spittin that rough lyrics on kast first album, but switched up after that.
