Desert Heat is one of 'New Country's hottest acts. This band from the Canadian province of Quebec is the creator of the new crossover sound from 'up north' that has fans raving and the big boys in Nashville watching very closely.
Their independent 2005 debut release " Forever Road" caught the attention of music critics and media almost immediately and spawned radio hits and several award nominations from the Canadian Country Music Association. In 2006 they were nominated for Independent Group Of The Year, Group Of The Year and in 2007 the Rising Star Award. This was no small feat; especially considering the cultural and political differences in the region and that no act of this genre has ever been this successful outside of Quebec's borders.
Desert Heat is perhaps largely known for their tight vocals and harmonies, rock-solid song writing and powerhouse instrumental delivery, but it is their reputation for explosive live performances that is making believers. After years of honing their chops and polishing their showmanship in every conceivable venue type in Canada and the US, they have earned that reputation. In fact, in the spring of 2006 a mere word of mouth, fan-based, campaign led to a series of sold-out shows for Desert Heat as headliner and audiences in excess of 8,000 fans.
Currently they are preparing for the official release of their sophomore album "Tail Lights & Love" scheduled for late spring 2008. This highly anticipated CD features a formidable selection of songs co-written by Nashville's top songwriters and produced by the multi-platinum record-smiths Joel Feeney and Jeff Nystrom. Closely following this release, tour dates are in planning for the USA, Canada and Europe.
