Why I Quit Tithing

Why I quit tithing. I am a blessed non-tither, and I am still being healed from my legalism addiction. Thankfully, I have been sober for many years now. Praise You, Jesus. This video is also dedicated to You, Lord, the true Tithe given by Father to sanctify my heart.

Thanks for posting this! I watch the 700 club daily and they constantly tell stories about ppl who tithed 10 % or more and how thier life is so great now and how God has blessed them. They use these stories to influence ppl to give to thier ministry.

Usertm3172, Abraham and Jacob did not tithe out of obedience. There was no law to obey. They tithes for a different reason. Abraham tithed to Melchizedek because he was THE priest of the most high God. Jesus is priest after the order of Melchizedek. Tithing is on income only, not gifts and or loans and certainly not after bills are paid. Secondly, tithing PRECEDED the Old Testament law. Abraham and Jacob both tithed out of obedience. Last time I checked both of them lived before Moses, the law giver. But you are correct in saying that the New T. believer follows the New T. But the New T. standard is always higher than the Old Testament. So my thought would be that New testament giving is in excess of 10%.

Everything we own belongs to God.Are we good stewards of it? Do we help the poor, the orphan & the widow as stated in scriptures or do we spend it selfishly on ourselves and our pleasures, saying 'we work hard, we deserve it'.The Lord let me know I was dying in my wealth & i had to remedy that by tithing properly.Consider Matt16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? The fact that you were taught to tithe 10% of your student loans proves you never really had an accurate defintion of tithing or income. Student loans are debt, they do not count as income; you should have never tithed on that because it has to be paid back. Your income is what is LEFT OVER after all your basic expenses (food, clothing, utilties, rent, transportation, taxes) are paid.

I'm not against tithing, but I just can't stand the way organized religion twists it's defintion.

Or is it that you don't think you can still learn. Whatever it is, you're too hard-headed and stubborn for me to want to waste my time. I told you what to do and that's read your Bible, but you obviously don't believe that will help you. Then it won't. Faith is the key to hearing and receiving from God.
